Congratulations TIM!

May 15, 2026 Dr. Tim Carlson is official

A great ceremony and terrific to see Tim's family. Tim worked on the creation of a qubit based on topological insulators. Tim built skills in magnetic force microscopy, and high resolution EELS together with iLine lithographyntechnqiues. He plans on accepting a research position with a small tech company in Raleigh, but will be with us for a little time to help in the transition for the lab.
